AZGREEN prepared a bespoke Environmental Protection Plan for a major road and infrastructure development project in Azerbaijan. The plan translated the project’s environmental commitments into clear procedures that could be implemented by contractors, supervisors, and site personnel throughout construction.

The assignment began with a review of the project design, construction activities, environmental assessment findings, site conditions, and applicable environmental requirements. Key risks were identified according to the type, location, and duration of the planned works.

The plan addressed a broad range of construction-related issues, including dust, noise, erosion, stormwater, wastewater, waste storage, hazardous materials, fuel handling, accidental spills, vegetation disturbance, traffic, worker activities, and the rehabilitation of temporarily affected land.

For each environmental issue, practical prevention and control measures were defined. The plan established responsibilities, inspection routines, monitoring requirements, documentation procedures, emergency actions, and corrective-response processes. This ensured that environmental expectations were communicated clearly and applied consistently across the project.

Special attention was given to measures that could be realistically implemented under active construction conditions. Recommendations considered site access, available resources, contractor responsibilities, construction sequencing, and the need to avoid unnecessary disruption to project delivery.

The completed Environmental Protection Plan provided the client and construction team with a practical environmental-management framework. It supported day-to-day site control, regulatory compliance, internal inspections, contractor coordination, and the documentation of environmental performance throughout the construction period.
